We have several options for accommodations, ranging from our lodge, which is ideal for large groups and retreats, to smaller cottages that are perfect for families or couples. The lodge and cottages were built in the 1930s in classic Hawaiian ranch style and furnished with Balinese and Hawaiian wood and textiles, featuring sweeping views of the tropical landscape, the ocean, and Maui. Our accommodations are just a short drive from the black-sand beaches of Hālawa Valley.

The Lodge

The lodge was built in the distinctive style of noted architect C.W. Dickey in 1935 and is an example of the golden age of Hawaiian architecture. It features a majestic great room (about 1,350 sq ft) with rough-cut wood beams, a lava-rock fireplace, a library, and sitting areas. Attached to the lodge are a certified commercial kitchen and a shaded lanai (about 800 sq ft). In front of the main building, with a large yoga deck overlooking a vast lawn, are sweeping views of the ocean. A pool nestles behind the building. The surrounding landscape was redesigned by Leland Miyano in 2013 using native plants. This is a unique retreat space perfect for families or a group getaway.
The lodge experience includes private use of the entire home and pool as well as prepared farm-to-table meals. Twelve bedrooms with private bathrooms wrap around the lodge’s beautiful gardens. The space perfectly hosts retreats, workshops, hunts, family gatherings, and intimate weddings.

The cottage has a primary bedroom with a queen bed, secondary bedroom with two twin beds, two bathrooms, a spacious living and dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, and a shaded lanai.

Closer to town, with views of Maui and Lānai, the cozy one-bedroom Sugar Mill cottage is walking distance from a white-sand beach with great snorkeling. It sleeps up to four, with a primary bedroom, a daybed in the living room, a full bath, living room, and fully-equipped kitchen.
